Getting there
- From Cape Town, take exit 34 off the N1 and turn left at the traffic lights.
- At the 4-way stop, turn left into Anderson Road which changes to Bokmakierie after crossing Kiewiet Street.
- Continue straight to the last property on the left.
- From Worcester / Paarl, take exit 34 and turn right at the traffic lights.
- Go over the bridge crossing the N1, and over the next set of traffic lights.
- At the 4-way stop, turn left as above to reach 1 Bokmakierie Road on the left side of the road.
Afi-Plaas is about 20 km from Stellenbosch, 30 km from Paarl and 35 km from the V&A Waterfront.
It is the first stop for travellers coming from the west into the Joostenberg Corridor, and the last for those coming from the east.
THE ACCOMMODATION
- Main bedroom: queen bed, en-suite with bath and shower

The What The Gravel Verdict
Afi Plaas Gastehuis has an unique name. The phrase “Afi” is derived from the Cape Afrikaans dialect (Aka Kaaps) and is slang for “From the” meaning From the Farm (Plaas in Afrikaans) The correct Afrikaans would be “Van die plaas af”, meaning From the Farm.
We have selected Afi-Plaas because of its location for a Self-Drive tour of the Joostenberg Corridor, and it’s easy to find location. It is very well appointed and offers a great place for a group or family stay.
Jessica will take care of your comfort and assisted by her husband, Richard, you are guaranteed to experience the Afrikaner hospitality you may have read about.
