At What The Gravel, we explore the great outdoors. Be it from Google Earth, or live on the road, travelling from town to town, we are in search of the things dreams are made of; outside the wire!

For Local Explorers

We offer unbiased information on Camp Sites, Farm Stays and Lodges based on our 100-point standard rating system. This rating system is based on two International Standards (ISO 22483 and ISO 21401) and provides a framework for delivering consistent, high-quality guest experiences regardless of the size or location of the establishment.

Our rating is based on first-hand personal experience and are not paid for by the business or supplier being rated. It is also not announced or disclosed to the business concerned prior to our arrival, making our reviews the most reliable in South Africa.

For the Film Industry

We provide professional location scouting and location management services for film, television, commercial, documentary and photographic productions throughout Cape Town and the Western Cape.

From discovering unique and visually compelling locations to securing permissions, negotiating with property owners, arranging permits and overseeing on-site logistics, WTG offers a complete location solution tailored to the needs of each production. With extensive local knowledge, an eye for detail, and a commitment to efficient project coordination, we help producers and directors find the perfect setting while ensuring a smooth and hassle-free filming experience from pre-production through to wrap.

For Single Senior Adventurers

For single outdoor enthusiasts over 50, we run the WTG 4xFour Club. Club members get first-hand product reviews and insider tips on campsites and adventure activities and can also join us on a selection of tours throughout the year.

We have partnered with the Cape Chronicle to operate a selection of Guided Self-Drive tours from Cape Town.
