On 27 October 2026, WTG has reached it’s first milestone! 500 Days on the road, discovering the Western Cape on a Shoestring Budget.

With the help of friends, and our loyal clients and customers, we have made it this far.

It was never the intention to become another website listing thousands and thousands of Accommodation places, and after 500 days that vision has changed again.

What The Gravel from now on will focus on the people, the businesses and the places that actually show up!

From 28 October 2026, we are only promoting our Business Members. These companies are paying to be included in our new strategy, to become the most dynamic Travel Information Library on the internet and we will focus on the Western Cape, the only functional province south of the Limpopo river.
