This is the life we all know very well.
You wake up.
You check your phone.
Emails.
Messages.
Deadlines.
Coffee.
Work.
Traffic.
Dinner.
More emails.
Then sleep.
And tomorrow, you do it all over again.
Sound familiar?
Somewhere between chasing promotions, paying bills, answering messages and trying to keep up with an endless list of responsibilities, many of us have accidentally turned life into a routine where work gets our best hours and everything else gets whatever is left over.
We promise ourselves that we’ll take a proper holiday soon.
Next month.
After this project.
Once things calm down.
But things rarely calm down.
There is always another meeting. Another deadline. Another reason to postpone the trip.
And before you know it, another year has passed.
Maybe the problem isn’t that you need to work harder at balancing your life.
Maybe you simply need to remember that your life is supposed to be part of the balance.
And sometimes, the best way to remember that is to pack a bag, leave the familiar behind and go somewhere you’ve never been before.
You don’t necessarily need a luxury resort.
You don’t need a first-class ticket.
You don’t even need to leave your country.
Sometimes, all you need is a few days, a different view outside your window and permission to stop being productive for a while.
Because travel isn’t always about escaping your life.
Sometimes, it’s about finding your way back to it.
